F.I.S.H. is a non-profit organization, 100% managed and staffed by volunteers.
Volunteers are the glue that holds our organization together. Even helping with the smallest tasks can make a real difference in the lives of people who need food for themselves and their families. Our schedules are flexible with jobs for all abilities. Some of our volunteers come in every weekday while others come in once a week or once a month. Our volunteers typically work from 11:30 am to 2:15 pm Monday through Friday, but our drivers generally start earlier & finish earlier. We need and value our volunteers above all else!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

FLOATER:  Able to fill in all positions except Driver.

BAGGER:  Prepares food bags for clients. The amount of food placed in grocery bags depends on the size of the family requesting food. Must be able to lift and carry grocery bags.

​FRONT DOOR PERSON:  Handles food for walk-up clients. Prepares items stored in refrigerators & freezers for distribution, such as dairy and meat. Must be able to lift and carry grocery bags.

RECEIVING ROOM HELPER:  Sorts and prepares donated food to be distributed. Keeps the distribution area supplied during hours of operation.

​DRIVER: Possession of a pickup, van, or large S.U.V. is a plus but not required. Has to be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Picks up donated food from supermarkets. Drivers have a different schedule.

FUNDRAISER: We need help with our fundraising campaigns. A great job you can do from home, at actual events, and outside our service hours.
